Hoarding Woes: Yard Sale Karma

Good responses from sales. Stuff moving out and down the driveway. Mom looking down and satisfied with responses, setup and good feelings. I wish we could have done this for her. But, it got to be too overwhelming for her and she couldn’t let us see. Not sure we could have gotten to this point with her present for each decision.

Interesting that a few people attending the sales buy stuff without dickering and almost in a fever pitch. Their car is full of stuff. Hoarders? A little twinge of guilt in contributing to that.

Have three levels inside the house to deal with. Basement a disaster and still needs heavy effort. Heaviest filth and smell…tainting almost anything possibly salvageable. Main floor much better and cleanup efforts evolving to the more valuable keepsakes and decisions coming on what to sell or keep. Upstairs untouched and less cluttered. Combinations of valuables and ok stuff.

After this sale, time for more drop boxes and clean up. Garage has a terrible stench and two out buildings in terrible shape with rodents having camped out. Been avoiding those. That is part of the process. I can see I ignore what is right under my nose. Suddenly, it is evident that an unrecognized task is still there and it will be have to be dealt with soon. Ugh. Need more masks and gloves.
